§ The LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. Ure)For the year ended August, 1910 (this being the month to which the Department's statistics are compiled), the number of higher grade schools in receipt of Grants under the Scotch Code was 191, the average number of pupils on the register was 26,043, and the amount of State Grant paid to the schools (including the grant in relief of school fees) was £122,680.
