§ Sir JOHN DEWARasked the Lord Advocate if his attention has been drawn to the fact that twenty-eight fishermen's houses at Mallaig have been condemned by the sanitary authorities, and must be vacated within six months; and whether, having regard to the inconvenience to the tenants, there being no other accommodation for them in the district, he will advise the Congested Districts Board to grant a loan to the county council for the purpose of rebuilding the houses, or take such other steps as he may deem expedient to secure new dwellings for these fishermen?
§ The LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. Ure)The matter to which my hon. Friend alludes, and which has been brought to the notice of the Secretary for Scotland seems one for consideration in the first instance by the public health authorities. Inquiry will be made.
