§ Mr. PIRIEI beg to ask the Lord Advocate a question of which I have given him private notice: If he can state on what date or dates the decisions were arrived at to withdraw the drafting of the scheme 238 for the superannuation of teachers in Scotland and to suspend the operation of the proposed regulations for the staffing of schools in Scotland; and also what and when opportunity will be given to the Scottish representatives of debating such important changes of policy?

I am not able, owing to your decision, Sir, to move the adjournment of the House, the matter having been discussed last Tuesday; but I give notice that on the Motion for Adjournment at eleven o'clock to-night I shall call attention to the matter. If the Lord Advocate is not here and I cannot raise it to-night I shall do so to-morrow night.
