§ Colonel GRIFFITH-BOSCAWENasked the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been drawn to the state of the law with regard to sewers and drains, by which local authorities are placed in an unfair position as regards combined drainage; whether he has received resolutions on the subject from many municipal corporations and urban district councils; and whether he will undertake to bring in a Bill dealing with the subject and to press it through in the present Session?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Herbert Lewis)I am aware of the difficulties arising out of the present state of the law on this subject, and I have received resolutions from a number of local authorities with respect to it. I could not, however, promise to introduce legislation dealing with the matter this Session.
