§ Mr. REDMOND BARRYThe Chief Secretary's attention has been called to the resolution referred to. There is no obligation on the Board of Works to take over monuments of local interest, and the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898, and the Irish Land Act, 1903, enable local authorities to undertake the preservation of such buildings, and give them the necessary powers.
