§ Mr. CLYNESasked how many ex-governors of Dominions are now in receipt of pensions for their services; how many of them are known to be receiving more than one pension; and how many of them sit in the House of Lords?
Mr. HARCOURTAs far as I am aware, the number of Colonial ex-Governors in receipt of pensions is twenty-two. Only two of these served any part of their time in a self-governing Dominion. One ex-Governor is also in receipt of an Army pension, but his pension as Governor was, in consequence, reduced by one-half the amount of his military pension. Only one ex-Governor in receipt of a pension is a member of the House of Lords.
