§ The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Buxton)The number of cases in which there was any reason to believe that applicants registering at the Labour Exchanges in the United Kingdom during the five weeks ending 30th June were not of British nationality was 159, and in fifty-three cases the applicants-proved, on inquiry, to be aliens who had resided within the United Kingdom less than six months. During the period ten aliens were placed in situations through the Labour Exchanges.
