HC Deb 17 July 1911 vol 28 cc671-2
Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware of the inconvenience caused by the refuges removed from the roads for the Coronation procession not being yet replaced; and whether he will take steps to secure that they shall be replaced as soon as possible?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The refuges displaced on the south side of the river have been reinstated; and, though I have no power to give any instructions in the matter, I have no doubt that the local authority on the north side of the river will take similar action without further delay.

Mr. ROWLANDS

May I direct the attention of the right hon. Gentleman to the need of the refuges in the Strand?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I think the publicity given to the matter will be sufficient,

Mr. A. C. MORTON

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that all the refuges in the City have been replaced for some time?
