HC Deb 17 July 1911 vol 28 cc672-3
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he has received a resolution passed at a public meeting of the inhabitants of West-houghton protesting against the action of the Lancashire County Council respecting the building of schools in place of those it is proposed to close, and asking that a public inquiry into the matter be held; and, if so, whether he proposes to comply with the request for an inquiry?

Mr. TREVELYAN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part of the question, my right hon. Friend is giving careful consideration to all the representations which reach him. He is not prepared yet to say whether a public inquiry will be necessary.
