HC Deb 17 July 1911 vol 28 c693
Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

, who had given notice of his intention to ask the Prime Minister whether it is proposed to appoint Lord Kitchener in the place of the late Sir Eldon Gorst as Consul-General for Egypt; and, if so, whether the Prime Minister will give an early day for a discussion of the proposal before the Government is definitely committed, said: As the appointment has been officially announced, I need not put the first part of the question, but perhaps the Prime Minister would like to answer the second part of the question?

The PRIME MINISTER

The hon. Member might put it to the Foreign Secretary to-morrow.

Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

It is a matter of the business of the House. Must I put that to the Foreign Secretary?

The PRIME MINISTER

You might put it to me.
