Mr. POINTERasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that both the elected members of the Malta Executive Council and six out of the eight elected members of the Legislative Council have again resigned their seats; whether, in face of this latest evidence of the dissatisfaction of the people of Malta with their system of representative government, he will now consider the desirability of some alteration?
§ Colonel SEELYSix of the elected members of the Legislative Council of Malta (including one member of the Executive Council) have resigned. As to an alteration in the Constitution, I would refer my hon. Friend to the Secretary of State's reply to his question of the 4th instant.
Mr. POINTERCan the right hon. Gentleman say when his right hon. Friend is going to cease replying in this stereotype manner? Is there never going to be a time when we get a satisfactory answer?
