HC Deb 10 July 1911 vol 28 cc17-8
Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will circulate a statement of the verbal discussion between Sir Percy Girouard and the Secretary of State, referred to on page 7 of Cd. 5584, the absence of which creates a blank between communications No. 11 and No. 12 of the said paper?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Harcourt)

I had a general discussion with Sir Percy Girouard on the whole matter, but it is not possible to reduce that discussion to the form of a written statement. I shall be prepared to deal with the whole matter when my hon. Friend raises it in Committee of Supply, as I understands he intends to do.

Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any more adequate reply to the questions put by Lord Crewe to Sir Percy Girouard on the 5th of May, 1910 [Cd. 5584], p. 6, was received than the telegram of the 6th of May published in the same Paper; and, if so, will he cause the despatch to be published?

Mr. HARCOURT

All the correspondence relating to the subject has been included in the Papers which have been laid.
