HC Deb 10 July 1911 vol 28 cc23-4
Mr. DUFFY

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman is aware that negotiations have taken place between the Congested Districts Board and Lord Ardilaun in respect to the purchase by the Board of the untenanted lands at Moyode and Holly-park; and, having regard to the number of congested holdings in the locality, can he indicate when the Board expect to be able to deal with the estate in question?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

The Congested Districts Board inform me that this estate has been inspected, and their inspector's report will be considered at their next meeting.

Mr. DUFFY

asked whether the Chief Secretary can state when the estate of Charles O'Farrell, Daly's Town, Loughrea, will be dealt with by the Commissioners; what position does it hold on the register; how many years have elapsed since agreements to purchase were signed by the tenants; and will he communicate with the Commissioners over the delay in disposing of this estate?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

Proceedings for the sale of this estate to the Estates Commissioners were instituted under the Irish Land Act, 1903, by the owner in October, 1908. Owing to its position in the list it is not likely to be dealt with this year, but when reached in its turn it will be dealt with as rapidly as possible.
