HC Deb 05 July 1911 vol 27 cc1141-2
Mr. WILLIAM O'BRIEN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he will give a return of all offices or employments created in Ireland since January, 1885, under the various Land Acts and Land Purchase Acts, under the Local Government Act of 1898, under the Act establishing the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction, or in connection with the Old Age Pensions Act and the Budget of 1909, with the Commissioners of National Education, the Intermediate Board, the Local Government Board, the National Universities Act, the Department of Law and Police, or any other Department connected directly or indirectly with the government of Ireland and wholly or partly paid out of moneys provided by the Imperial Exchequer, together with the salaries or other emoluments attached to each office?

Mr. REDMOND BARRY

The return asked for is a very comprehensive one, and the time and labour involved in its preparation would be out of all proportion to its value. A comparison of the Estimates for the years 1884–5 and 1911–12 would give the hon. Member practically all the information he requires.
