§ Sir E. STRACHEYYes. I regret to say that foot-and-mouth disease has broken out at Blands Farm, Hounslow, Middlesex. Of the seventy-six pigs on the farm at least forty-two pigs are affected, and one heifer out of the nineteen cattle is also affected. All the animals affected and those in contact will be at once-slaughtered, and the usual steps for isolating the infected area have been taken.
