Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANSasked what proportion the estimated expenditure out of moneys provided by Parlia- 803 merit in respect of the two-ninths of the benefits payable to men and one-fourth of the benefits payable to women and the administration of such benefits will bear to the total contribution payable by men and women and their employers in each of the years 1912–13 to 1927–8?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe hon. Member will find the necessary materials for this calculation, so far as the years 1912–1918, 1922–3 and 1927–8 are concerned, in the actuaries' report. I do not think, having regard to the pressure on the actuaries' time in preparing various calculations for the information of the House, that anything would be gained by making the calculation for the intermediate years.
Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANSCan the right hon. Gentleman say whether it exceeds three farthings during the first year?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEReally I do not think the hon. Gentleman ought to put a question like that without notice. Of course I could not answer it.
