HC Deb 03 July 1911 vol 27 cc809-10
Mr. JOHN O'CONNOR

asked the Undersecretary of State for War if he can now state whether contracts for the supply of meat to the Army stationed at the Curragh and elsewhere in Great Britain and Ireland have been entered into; if such contracts have been made, do they include contracts with the Swift and other American firms for any supplies; and, if so, to what extent?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Colonel Seely)

Contracts have been made for the supply of meat to the Army for a period of six months from 1st June. None have been made with Messrs. Swift and Co. or any other American firms.
