HC Deb 27 February 1911 vol 22 c3
Mr. ARNOLD WARD

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what arrangements had been made by the Egyptian Government to utilise the additional amount of water provided by the raising of the Assuan dam; and whether this additional water is at present running to waste into the sea?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

I will ask for a report as to whether the water stored by the Assuan dam is already utilised to the fullest extent that is possible.
