asked the amounts devoted to the development of agriculture during the last financial year, respectively, by the Governments of the United States, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and Great Britain, and the proportion such expenditure bears to the total annual expenditure of each country?

The amounts are as follows:—

Germany, £2,710,000, approximately.

Great Britain, excluding Ireland, £185,710.

Denmark, £283,000, approximately.

The Board have no information as regards the United States and Belgium for 1910. The conditions in each country vary so considerably that an exact proportion cannot be stated.
