§ Mr. O'SHAUGHNESSYasked the Chief Secretary if he could say whether the Estates Commissioners received a copy of a resolution passed by the town tenants of Askeaton, in the county of Limerick, asking to have the remainder of the town holdings there included in the sale of the Hewson estate, and, further, that as the town tenants enjoyed the right to a share of the 200 acres of untenanted land on that estate adjacent to the town for a number of years, requesting that they get a portion of this land now as accommodation plots, to enable them to grow food stuffs to support themselves and their families; and if he can say what action the Estates Commissioners propose to take in the matter?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners inform me that a copy of the resolution referred to has been received and will be considered by the Commissioners, who propose to approach the vendor with a view to the purchase of the untenanted lands.
