HC Deb 15 February 1911 vol 21 c1063
Mr. MITCHELL-THOMSON

I wish to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty a question, of which I have given him private notice, whether he has any information to give to the House with regard to the stranding of His Majesty's battleship "Collingwood," off Ferroll, and if so, whether the resulting damage is serious?

Mr. MCKENNA

H.M.S. "Collingwood" grazed an uncharted rock while entering Ferroll harbour. The rock penetrated the outer bottom, but no injury was done to the inner bottom. I may add that the "Agamemnon" just grazed the same rock without its penetrating her outer bottom. The injury was not serious in either ship.
