HC Deb 14 February 1911 vol 21 cc860-1
Mr. DOUGLAS HALL

asked the Sectary of State for War, whether he will consider the advisability of fixing an age limit for retirement of warrant officers in the Royal Garrison Artillery so as to ensure a continuous flow of promotion in the ranks of non-commissioned officers?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Haldane)

If the hon. Member will kindly refer to Articles 711 and 712 of the Royal Warrant for Pay, etc., he will find the age limit laid down for retirement of warrant officers of the Royal Garrison Artillery, which is included in that laid down for the retirement of warrant officers of all arms.

Mr. DOUGLAS HALL

Might I ask if that is an earlier age of retirement than for the rest of the force?

Mr. HALDANE

No, the age is that laid down generally for the whole force.
