asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is the practice of the Commissioners of Inland Revenue, in assessing compensation payable under the Licensing Act, 1904, to make valuations of licensed premises merely on information derived from written answers to questions set by the Commissioners themselves and without any personal inspection of such premises on behalf of the Commissioners or the employment of expert valuers; and, if so, whether he will give directions for this practice to be discontinued?
