§ Mr. CHARLES BATHURSTasked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in order to render more intelligible to members of district councils and other local authorities the provisions of the Housing, Town-Planning, etc., Act, 1909, which are largely expressed by reference to previous Housing and Public Health Acts, the Government will introduce this Session a Housing Consolidation Bill, and thereby facilitate and accelerate such Act being put into effective operation, especially in rural districts?
§ Mr. BURNSI have not lost sight of this matter, but, as I stated in reply to the hon. Member on 30th June last, consolidation should, in my opinion, be accompanied by amendment. I think it will be wise to await some further experience of the working of the Act of 1909 before proceeding to amendment.
