HC Deb 09 February 1911 vol 21 c425
Mr. LUNDON

asked whether the Estates Commissioners had taken any steps to acquire the untenanted land on the estate of Colonel Lowe, of Sunville, Ardpatrick, county Limerick; and whether the owner of these lands had petitioned the Commissioners to make a tenant of himself should an agreement be come to; and, if so, would his proposal be rejected and the said lands be divided among the evicted tenants, small farmers, and labourers of the district?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that in the originating application lodged by the vendor for the sale of his estate under the Irish Land Act, 1903, some 220 acres of the demesne lands of Sunville are included, and the owner has requested that they may be resold to him under Section 3 of the Irish Land Act, 1903. The Commissioners will not be in a position to consider this proposal until the estate is being dealt with in order of priority.
