HC Deb 09 February 1911 vol 21 cc428-9
Mr. WILLIAM ABRAHAM (Dublin)

asked the right hon. Gentleman whether he had received a copy of a resolution adopted at a public meeting held in the Mansion House, Dublin, on the 3rd instant, at which their Excellencies the Lord Lieutenant and the Countess of Aberdeen were present, calling attention to the distress prevailing in the city owing to the lack of employment; and whether, having regard to the number of workmen who have registered their names with the distress committee but have received no work owing to want of funds, he will use his utmost efforts to obtain further help from the Parliamentary grant for the relief of unemployed workmen, seeing that the sum already received was quite inadequate?

Mr. BIRRELL

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to a similar question asked yesterday by the hon. Member for St. Patrick's Division of the City of Dublin.
