HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 c2509
Mr. WILKIE

asked the Postmaster-General if he had received from the Dundee Chamber of Commerce a letter complaining of the inconvenience and loss to business occasioned to the city and district by the interruption of telegraphic communications during the recent storms; and if he could now state when the conditional promise of last year to have the underground wires carried on to Dundee and the north would be carried into effect, this work being now the more pressing in view of his intimation of the experiments he proposed initiating between London and Aberdeen?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Herbert Samuel)

I have received the letter from the Dundee Chamber of Commerce to which the hon. Member refers, and I am considering the best means of guarding against further interruption in telegraphic communication.
