HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 c2535
Mr. FRED HALL (Dulwich)

asked the amount of Petrol Tax paid by the London omnibus companies in the last year for which information is available, and the amount contributed out of the Road Improvement Fund in respect of the improvement of roads in the county of London?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I regret that the information asked for in the first part of the hon. Member's question is not available. As regards the latter part, no grants have been made in respect of the improvement of roads in the county of London except for the purpose of certain tests of road materials. The amount available for London has for the present been set aside with the object of assisting the construction of new approach roads, for which plans and estimates are in the course of preparation.

Mr. FRED HALL

Is it not a fact that in a Report issued by the Board of Trade just recently the amount was given that was supposed to be collected by the London motor omnibus companies on account of the petrol used by them?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I must ask for notice of that. I have not seen it.
