HC Deb 04 December 1911 vol 32 cc1010-1
Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Home Secretary if his attention has been called to the decision of the chairman of the Weald-stone Petty Sessions in a case where a cyclist was charged with riding on the footpath, such decision being that cycles were not vehicles and were by law allowed to be ridden on the footpath; and, in view of the danger to the public from riding cycles on footpaths, will he introduce legislation to make the law clear on this point?

Mr. McKENNA

I have seen a newspaper report of the case, and will communicate with the justices on the subject. I will inform the hon. Member in due course of the result of the inquiries.
