This Act may be cited as the National Insurance Act, 1911, and shall, save as otherwise expressly provided by this Act, come into operation on the first day of May nineteen hundred and twelve.

Amendments made: Leave out the word "first," and insert instead thereof the word "fifteenth."

Leave out the word "May" and insert instead thereof the word "July."

At the end of the Clause insert the words, Provided that His Majesty in Council may, should necessity arise, substitute some subsequent date or dates not being later than the first day of January, nineteen hundred and thirteen, as respects the provisions of this Act relating to health insurance, and not being later than the first day of October, nineteen hundred and twelve, as respects the provisions of this Act relating to unemployment insurance.—[Mr. Lloyd George.]
