§ Mr. SANDERSasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether he has any official information showing that there is a serious epidemic of foot-and-mouth disease in Holland; and, if so, whether he will consider the advisability of taking steps to prevent the importation into this country of moss litter and similar products which are likely to carry the disease?
§ Mr. GULLAND (Lord of the Treasury)Official returns show that foot-and-mouth disease is at present prevalent in Holland. There is no evidence that this disease has ever been introduced by moss-litter, but further inquiries will, however, be made.
