HC Deb 14 August 1911 vol 29 cc1549-50
Mr. CROFT

asked the Prime Minister whether the Royal Commission to inquire into the resources and trade development of the Empire has yet been appointed; and, if so, whether he can supply the names of its members?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

The Royal Commission has not yet been appointed, but my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Colonies is in correspondence with the Dominions' Governments as to its composition.

Mr. LOUGH

Has the reference to the Royal Commission been decided on? Will there be an opportunity for the House to consider it?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

Obviously I cannot answer the last part of the question without consulting my right hon. Friend. The whole matter is still the subject of correspondence with the Dominion Governments.

Mr. LOUGH

Then I take it the reference has not yet been decided.
