§ Mr. BUTCHERI beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer a question of which I have given him private notice, whether the Report contained in the Parliamentary Debates, Vol. 29, p. 807, of the statement made to His Majesty on the 15th November, 1910, by His Majesty's Ministers is correct; and whether the object of the creation of Peers therein referred to was correctly stated in that Report to be to give effect to "the desire of the Government?"
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe words, "the desire of the Government," which appear in the OFFICIAL REPORT are incorrect. The correct version is "the decision of the country," as given in the report in "The Times," and the necessary correction is being made in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
