With regard to the second part of the question, I am not yet in a position to say whether it will be possible next year to make grants to secondary schools in advance of the present rate. I am doubtful whether it would be practicable in any case to earmark any additional grants expressly for augmenting the salaries of the teaching staffs. I am, however, considering the question.
