§ Mr. DAWESasked the President of the Local Government Board whether he will issue a circular to the various boards of guardians informing them that when an old age pensioner receives medical relief they are not entitled to apply any money received in respect of the pension to the maintenance of the pensioner in relief of the rates, that if a pensioner is asked to 176 allow the agent of the guardians to collect the pension the pensioner should be at the same time informed that he is entitled to all money collected, and that an assurance must be given to the pensioner that all such money will be paid to him?
§ Mr. BURNSThe whole question of the receipt by pensioners of their pensions while in Poor Law institutions is receiving consideration, and I could not promise to issue a circular as suggested at the present time.
