§ Mr. HOBHOUSEThe total grants made by the Road Board with the approval of the Treasury to highway authorities towards works of road improvement amount to £141,568. In addition, grants amounting to about £425,000 have been indicated, and the details are now in course of settlement between various authorities and the Board. The estimated cost of carrying out the improvements to which the Board have contributed £141,568 is £246,231.
