§ The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Hobhouse)Pension officers have no power, either with or without the authority of the Board of Customs and Excise, of revoking pensions granted by the pension authority. In cases in which it is clear that disqualification has arisen, payment of pension is provisionally stopped pending the decision of the pension authority, but pension officers have instructions not to make such provisional stoppages without previous reference to the Board, except in certain clearly defined classes of cases, and where the evidence of disqualification is conclusive.
