§ Mr. BARNSTONasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he could see his way to enlarge the Committee appointed to inquire into Imperial and local taxation, in view of the fact that the English agriculturist and the English rural ratepayer is not represented?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEAs I have already stated, the members of the Committee are not intended to be representatives of particular interests, but the Committee contains in Mr. F. E. Rogers, of the Wiltshire County Council, a gentleman fully conversant with the local taxation problems of English rural districts.
§ Mr. BYLESIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that a good deal of dissatisfaction is expressed that the large municipalities are not adequately represented on the Committee?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEI think they have admirable representatives here.
