HC Deb 11 April 1911 vol 24 cc235-6
Mr. PAGET

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can furnish any figures showing the number and character of factories or businesses established in the United Kingdom as the result of the Patents Act of 1907, the amount of capital expended for this purpose on land, buildings, and plant, respectively, and the number of wage-earners employed in such factories or businesses?

Mr. BUXTON

During the three years which have elapsed since the Patents and Designs Act, 1907, came into operation many factories or businesses have been established in the United Kingdom, some no doubt in consequence of the Act, but there are no official statistics available on the subject.
