HC Deb 06 April 1911 vol 23 cc2426-7
Mr. ROBINSON

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will publish as a Parliamentary Paper the observations of the Central Welsh Board upon the Report of the Welsh Department on the work of the Central Board, with the comments of the Board of Education thereon?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I have only this week been informed that the Central Welsh Board looked for the comments of the Board of Education on the statement of the Central Welsh Board referred to in the question. When the statement reached me I obtained the observations of the Chief Inspector for Wales on it. I propose now to send down to the Central Welsh Board his minute to me which may be taken to embody the views of the Board of Education with regard to the main criticisms contained in their statement. At present, therefore, I think that to follow the course suggested in the question would be premature.
