HC Deb 05 April 1911 vol 23 c2193
Mr. SUTTON

asked the President of the Local Government Board, whether he is aware that W. Fullman, 42, Banyard Road, Southwark Park Road, London, did not receive a vaccination form at the time of registration; that the registrar, Mr. Hirst, promised to send the document on, but failed to do so; that Mr. Fullman went to the registrar on 22nd February and obtained the form, upon which he immediately made his declaration and posted the same to the vaccination officer on the 23rd February; and whether, as the delay which had placed the parent outside the time limit was entirely the fault of the registrar, he will give instructions to the vaccination officer to accept the declaration in this case?

The PRESIDENT of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Burns)

I have made inquiry into this case and find that the facts, as stated in the question, are not disputed. The Local Government Board are addressing a letter to the vaccination officer stating that, in the circumstances, they do not consider that proceedings should be taken against the parent for neglecting to procure the vaccination of the child.
