asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will state how many Labour and Agricultural Companies, non-combatant, there are in France, Belgium, and Germany, and the nature of the work they are performing?

The number of Labour and Agricultural Companies in France, Belgium and Germany is as follows:—

France and Belgium germany
Labour Companies 74 11
In France and Belgium Labour Companies are employed in "clearing up." In Germany, Labour Companies are employed in loading and unloading stores and supplies and in performing the general labour duties of the Army. Inquiry will be made regarding Agricultural Companies.
