HC Deb 31 March 1910 vol 15 c1457
Mr. THOMAS O'DONNELL

asked whether the Treasury, m conjunction "with the Local Government Board, is the sole authority under the Old Age Pensions Act empowered to make Regulations prescribing the evidence to be required as to the fulfilment of the statutory conditions; and whether all such Regulations are laid upon the Table of both Houses of Parliament?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The answer to both questions is in the affirmative.

Mr. THOMAS O'DONNELL

asked whether the only Regulations made by the Treasury in conjunction with the Local Government Board under the Old Age Pensions Act are those dated 20th August,}908; if any Regulations subsequent to these have been made as specified; what is the date thereof; when were they laid before Parliament; and when were they supplied to pension officers and pension committees?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The Regulations dated 20th August, 1908, referred to in the question were provisional Regulations only. They were superseded by the substantive Regulations, dated 15th October, 1908, which were duly presented to both Houses as provided by the Act. These were ordered by the House of Commons to be printed on 19th October, 1908, and copies were supplied forthwith to pension officers and pension committees. No subsequent Regulations have been made.
