HC Deb 31 March 1910 vol 15 c1445
Mr. SCANLAN

asked the Chief Secretary whether his attention had been directed to a resolution of the Sligo County Council calling upon the Congested Districts Board to make a grant for the improvement of the Dunmoran drainage district in the Drumoor West union of county Sligo; and whether he would cause this matter to be submitted for immediate consideration of the Board, as some drainage improvement is essential in the interests of sanitation and public health?

Mr. BIRRELL

I am aware that the Sligo County Council have passed a resolution to the effect stated in the question, but the Congested Districts Board have decided that in such cases they cannot undertake drainage works except in connection with estates purchased by them.
