§ Mr. JAMES PARKER (on behalf of Mr. William Thorne)asked whether his attention had been called to the fact that the Budget Committee of the Reichstag had 953 voted a further sum of £37,500 for the relief of tobacco workers thrown out of work in consequence of the increased taxation imposed on tobacco by the German Budget of 1909; and if, when he was framing his Budget for 1910–11, he would take the Tobacco Tax into consideration?
