§ Mr. BOTTOMLEYasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he would grant a Return of the contributions to the Deferred Annuity Fund under the Elementary School Teachers Superannuation Act, 1898, by persons who had not claimed the annuity up to the 31st March, 1909?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEI do not think that the results of such a Return would be worth the labour and expense involved in making it. I am informed that up to 31st March, 1909, in seventeen cases no application for the award of an annuity under the Elementary School Teachers Superannuation Act, 1898, had been made by teachers who, if alive, had reached the age of sixty-five and had so become entitled to apply by that date. The contributions made by these teachers amounted to £34 5s. in all.
