HC Deb 16 March 1910 vol 15 cc348-9
Mr. DUNDAS WHITE

asked the Postmaster-General whether his attention had been called to the adoption by various banks of secure money-boxes, which were issued to depositors and opened by the bank at intervals, so as to facilitate saving and also to lessen bookkeeping by making the individual deposits at the bank less frequent and more substantial; and whether it was proposed to adopt a similar system in the Post Office Savings Bank?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

My attention has been called to the use of these moneyboxes, and the possibility of adopting a similar system in the Post Office Savings Bank is being considered; but I am not yet prepared to make any definite announcement on the subject.
