HC Deb 15 March 1910 vol 15 c185
Mr. GOLDMAN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his Department has received any representations as to the importation of foreign rope and twine, which is then repacked and exported as British; and whether he will take steps to punish those concerned in these frauds should any cases come to his knowledge?

Mr. BUXTON

The Board of Trade have not received any recent representations on this subject. If, however, the hon. Member is in a position to furnish any evidence of the existence of such a practice as that indicated in his question, I shall be glad to consider it, with a view to deciding whether any action can usefully be taken in the matter.
