HC Deb 15 March 1910 vol 15 c184
Mr. NORTON-GRIFFITHS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will make inquiries as to the influx of Americans to British Columbia, and as to whether these Americans are pegging out and securing large tracts of country on the route of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway now being built?

Colonel SEELY

The matter referred to falls entirely under the administration of the Dominion Government. The Canadian Government make periodical Reports on the subject of immigration, which can no doubt be inspected at the offices of the High Commissioner.

Mr. NORTON-GRIFFITHS

Has the hon. and gallant Gentleman any reason to believe that the Government of Canada having encouraged this immigration, are taking objection to it now?

Colonel SEELY

No, I have no reason to think so at all.
