HC Deb 14 March 1910 vol 15 c4
Mr. POINTER

asked whether the Government are prepared to lay upon the Table of the House all the correspondence regarding the question of the reform of the Malta Constitution; and whether it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to so reform the Legislative Council of Malta as to put the elected members in a majority, in accordance with the desires expressed by all the elected members and by other bodies and individuals who have addressed communications to the Secretary of State on the subject?

Colonel SEELY

His Majesty's Government, as at present advised, does not propose to introduce any change in the Constitution of the Legislative Council of Malta. Papers on the subject of the recent reform by which two elected members of the Legislative Council have been given seats on the Executive Council will shortly be laid.
